Council Member​

-         2000-2020 - Member of the Trussville City Council (Trussville, AL). Served 5 terms, served three terms as Council President, and as the liaison to the Public Safety Committee, including the Police and Fire Departments and the Chamber of Commerce. Served on the Finance Committee, Historical Board, Library Committee, and the Planning and Zoning Commission. Duties as a Council member included: approval of annual budget for all departments, approval of yearly financial audit, appointment of board members to the Utilities Board, School Board, and other boards and commissions.

• Led major city capital projects, including:

  • Two new elementary schools

  • Renovations to elementary and middle school facilities

  • Construction of a new Civic Center

  • A multimillion-dollar stadium

  • New bridges and fire stations

  • A multimillion-dollar library expansion

  • A new $90 million high school

  • The Downtown Revitalization and Entertainment Center Project
